BRITISH PATTERN 1888 MK II BAYO-FOR LEE ENFIELD & METFORD RIFLES-UNIT MARKED: $199.50
Very good condition British Pattern 1888 MK II bayonet, asused with the Lee Enfield and Lee Metford rifles. Bayonet is maker marked“WILKINSON LONDON” on the left ricasso and dated “6 ‘95” for June 1895. Bayonetis unit marked “V / 1.NN / 1401” on the right side of the pommel for the 1stBattalion Northamptonshire Regiment Volunteers. Blade has original bright finishwith some scattered brown and gray. Remaining metal finish is bright with some grayand brown. Wood grips show some normal handling marks and have correct oilhole, lock button functions fine. Fitted in leather scabbard that has integralbelt loop and steel tip. Leather shows some normal wear. Stitching and staplesare nice and tight. A scarce P-1888 bayonet for your collection.
