Buffet Crampon wood clarinet circa 1946-1947.
Up for sale is a wood Buffet clarinet with serial number29,xxx. After searching multiple websites I’ve pegged the manufacture date of thisclarinet to around 1946-47.
It is missing only the screw for the side Eb/Bb key (not the whole key as seen in the pictures). I am aclarinet player and placed the Eb/Bb key from my modern Buffet R13 on it so Icould test play it. It didn’t quite fit, but it was workable and the pad closedover the hole. By doing this I could get the clarinet to play well throughoutall ranges, and it has a beautiful, warm, free-blowing sound.
However, it definitely will need key adjustments aswell as some new pads and corks to be at a top-performance level (beyond theneed for the side Eb/Bb key screw). It needs new joint corks. Additionally, there are two hairline cracks in the bell (see pictures). It is not in the original case, it looks justlike my modern R13 case but a bit of a different color tone.
If this clarinet were fixed up, it would truly be a fineprofessional instrument. It has the Buffet Crampon Paris logo on all parts –the barrel, the upper and lower sections, and the bell.
It comes with a Selmer Paris HS** and a Brillhart SpecialEbolin mouthpiece. Both are used.
Please message me if you have any questions.
Thanks for looking!
