 c. 1906 Washburn Brazilian Rosewood Bowlback Mandolin Project      Stock# 44194 - Serial # 227212      This is a Washburn model 225 mandolin, circa 1906 (dated by the six-digit serial number starting with \"227…\", and the label with \"Cremonatone\" wording at the bottom). Original tuners, bridge, and tailpiece, ivoroid binding on the fingerboard and top edge.  Original finish, Brazilian rosewood bowl with 15 ribs.

Issues: The top is splitting at the center seam. The binding is missing on the treble side between the nut & the 9th fret. The pickguard is lifting by the sound hole on the bass side. The neck seems tight with a good angle but we haven\'t strung it up or brought it to pitch. The top has some wear so check out the photos, but the Brazilian rosewood bowl and the neck have no cracks and are in quite good condition.  THE PHOTOS ARE A VITAL PART OF THE DESCRIPTION AND ARE HIGH RESOLUTION SO YOU CAN BLOW THEM UP AND SEE LOTS OF DETAILS.  In other words, don\'t just glance at these pics on a smartphone and then claim to be surprised when you see the instrument in person!Please review all of the photos carefully, as they are a vital part of the description.
