Rich warm tonal image shows light aging/rubbing, deep brown mount with beveled gilt edge shows early view of the North Transept at Bolton Abbey, North Yorkshire, England. Scottish photographer James Valentine made a view very close to this one in the 1870s, however, it shows headstones near the small fenced grave shown here at the left foreground whereas this image does not. Judging from the maturity of the vegetation, this would appear to be an earlier view.
