Rare and original, ca1900 American Occupational Porcelain China Shaving Mug belonging to a Cooper / Barrel Maker with an image of a Cooper making a keg / barrel.


The decoration on the Mug depicts the Cooper standing over a large wooden barrel and raising his hammer to strike a chisel.


This outstanding, turn of the 20th century Saving Mug measures approx. 3 5/8\" tall and 3 5/8 in diameter at the top. It is made of a high quality, porcelain china material. The Mug has a brilliant white ground surface with bright and vibrant color decoration and gold gilt highlights which includes the name of the original owner \"Mickel O’Doud\".


The decoration on this Shaving Mug is very attractive and the colors are bright and vibrant although the Mug does not carry the mark of the manufacturer.


This very rare and very attractive, turn-of-the-century Cooper / Barrel Maker Occupational Shaving Mug is in very good condition. The colors are bright and vibrant and the decoration well preserved and very attractive. There is some wear to the gold gilt border at the foot and on the rim of the Mug and to the lettering. The ground porcelain is a brilliant white and there is no staining or discoloration. There are no chips, cracks, physical damage or repairs of any kind. Please see the scans below for a good indication of the form and condition of this wonderful Cooper motif Occupational Shaving Mug.
