I can see why people get so involved with dollhouses. It’s amazing the quality and care that has gone into production of these items over the years.
This sale is for a c1910 signed Gabriel Fourmaintraux hand painted vase from France. I bought it earlier in the year at an estate sale in the Washington DC area. I’ll be selling other antique doll house items from the sale so check my other items.
The detail on this vase is amazing (check the photos). It has beautiful rich colors (cobalt blue, rose red, Irish green) and a nice shiny glaze. It has a fine gold rim. It’s marked GF with the sun logo on the bottom (the mark is slightly off center, but recognizable). It was all hand painted. It is in great condition with only a little glue residue on the bottom (it may have been glued down in the dollhouse perhaps).
The vase stands 1 inch tall (2.54 cm) but has all the detail of a larger scale piece. I think these miniatures were made in Desvres France along with Faience and Quimper.
Fourmaintraux was born in 1886 in Desvres in the Pas de Calais region of Northern France to a family with a long history in the ceramics industry. Gabriel studied ceramics and began work in 1905 at the family factory, taking over the running of it in 1930.

I collect, so I know what’s it like to get an item that’s nothing like described. So, I tend to go overboard on the photos and description. If there is an issue, I’ll make it right or you can return the item as per the listed terms.
I happily ship internationally. I\'ll work with you to make sure it\'s the least expensive (and safest) shipping method. I don\'t use \'s Global Shipping option because a number of international buyers have told me it\'s more expensive for them. If you\'d like that option for some reason, I think I can set it up after the sale.
