Rare and original, ca1900 Cast Iron, Horse Drawn, Hook and Ladder Fire Truck / Wagon believed to have been manufactured by the Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This early, Cast Iron Fire Engine / Ladder Wagon measures 16” long overall by 4\" tall (to the top of the head of the original driver) by 3 1/4\" wide and is complete with all parts present.
The Ladder Wagon is drawn by a team of two, separately cast horses - one white and one black and both with gold gilt trimmed harnesses. The Ladder Truck features a yellow yoke and front wheel assembly, 4 matching yellow spoke wheels and a blue wagon body with cast eagles on each side. The Ladder Wagon is complete including its original yellow ladders and ladder racks and both the original front and rear drivers.
This wonderful, ca1900 Horse Drawn Fire Truck / Ladder Wagon is in very good condition. As stated above, the Wagon is complete with the original ladders, ladder racks and the original front and rear drivers The white horse has been touched up / repainted to a dapple gray but otherwise the Ladder Truck is 100% original - none of the other parts have ever been repainted, touched-up, restored or altered in any way. There are no crack, breaks, chips, repairs or physical damage of any kind to the cast iron. The Toy retains a significant amount of its original surface paint as can be seen in the scans below. Please see the numerous scans below for a good indication of the form and condition of this very attractive Cast Iron Toy.
