CANON PELLIX QL CAMERA w/ FL 50mm & f/1.4 LENS FROM 1966:
$274.99

Imust begin by stating that I am nowhere close to being a camera aficionado. Myknowledge of this area is limited to the occasional factoid my dad would offerwhen I was a teenager, and a few crash-course sessions about the technicalfeatures and historical significance of the devices -- courtesy of my buddyMark.

Thatbeing said, the following sale offers a piece of my late father\'s vastvintage camera collection. He was a genuine enthusiast -- so much so that heand his good friend Mark spent many of their weekends attending camera showshere in the New England area, hoping that their next gem of a living roomdisplay piece was just a day-breaking drive away. When dad passed away elevenyears ago, all of his family members and friends agreed that he would want hiscameras to end up in the possession of someone who could truly appreciate theirphysical beauty, technical capabilities and historical lineage. I havepersonally taken on the task of listing these classic pieces on .

Thisparticular sale is for a Canon Pellix QL camera with an FL f/1.4 & 50mmlens.

Researchhas taught us that cameras like this one were first produced in Japan back in1966. It was called QL because, in common with the Canon FT, it had been equippedwith Canon’s excellent quick load system, which made it unnecessary to threadthe film into the take-up spool. You simply laid the film across the shutterarea so that the perforations engaged with the drive sprockets, and closed thecamera back, in the process closing the quick-load mechanism over the film.

The item has not beentested, so no promises can be made that a functional camera is being offeredhere. I also can’t guarantee that all mechanical pieces/parts are accountedfor.

As far as damage is concerned, its physical condition can best be described as\"very good.\" Imperfections are as follows:

-Isolated dirt spots are noticable over the black exterior canvason the back of the camera.

-The black metal borders along the top and bottom of the camerahave areas of accumulated dust and several faint scratches.

-There are thin coats of dirt over both the main lens piece andthe viewer glass. Most of the dirt seems to be on the outside of the glass, butthere may also be a little on the inside.

Whetheryou plan on using this camera for photographic purposes, or simply as an antiqueto display in your favorite room, several decades-worth of photo-snappinghistory is -- with hope -- about to join the collection of a cameraconnoisseur!
