Body and lens numbers20424 and 9123 respectively, and the “MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN” inscription showthis close copy of a Leica to be an early production Canon, probably from 1949.It is in fair to good condition. There is a small piece of vulcanite missingfrom beneath the lens mount. The rear vulcanite has a crack and staining.Chrome work is generally good and there are no dents or deep scratches. The3.5/5cm lens is in a collapsible mount; it has minor scratches and cleaningmarks and a lot of internal condensation or fogging. The shutter sounds andlooks OK on all fast speeds, but the slow speeds fire straight through. Theleather case is original and is in good condition. The viewfinder is clear andbright. The coupled rangefinder is reasonably accurate. A flash socket has beenadded.
