Cast Iron \"CABIN BANK\" BRIGHT Mechanical Bank..c1880\'s Original Antique Toy For Sale

Tonight I am listingsome antique original cast iron Mechanical Banks. The banks are being listed tonight with and a very reasonable starting price. The owner of the banks has reluctantly decided to part with much of his collection. This is the \"CABIN BANK\" Mechanical Bank circa 1880\'s made by the J.& E. Stevens Co. This was a popular bank, but few exist in the excellentpluscondition of the one shown here tonight. There are no cracks, breaks or other damage and the paint is surprisingly bright and vibrantconsidering the age of the bank. The last picture is from an ad in the October 1890Chas. Schmidt Catalog.

To operate, a coin is placed in the provided slot on the roof edge over the figure. The handle of the brush on the side of the cabin is then pulled forward causing the spring operated figure to stand on his head kicking the coin into the bank. For further operation the figure is replaced manually into position.
