This a sale for a real nice CSA 3\" Burton Bolt. This bolt has no explosives in it now and has never had any explosives in it. It is completely inert and solid metal. I bought this bolt 10 years ago and the iron is good and stable. Mild pitting.
Incredible rifling from a CS three inch rifled cannon. Peter George rated it a 9 on rarity. Not sure of provenance, most come from Northern Virginia. There is some lead that was filled in the bottom at some time in the 1860s. No problems or defects. No repairs other than what they did during the war at the bottom of the bolt.
Look at page 139 of Peter George\'s 1993 book and page 180 of Jack Melton\'s hard cover book for similar examples. I bought this at a sale of a famous collector in 2005. You cannot upgrade this rare bolt. Guaranteed to be authentic.
I will ship priority mail and insure for full value for 20 dollars.
U.S. buyers only.
