CIVIL WAR CONFEDERATE TEXAS MILITIA TIN DRUM CANTEEN with RED PAINTED STAR For Sale

Diameter is 5 1/4 inches, Width is 2 inches, Spout is 1/2 inch tall. A very unusual canteen picked out of Western Massachusetts. Believed to be a war trophy of aunion soldier taken from a Texas Confederate soldier. Of course, this is just the story, perhaps some one with more knowledge could identify the State and unit that carried this type of canteen. Canteen appears to have been painted black then the red star was painted on.
