COLLINS 26 C VINTAGE TUBE AUDIO COMPRESSOR VG+MANUAL &CASE ALL ORIGINAL For Sale

HERE\'S A RARE ITEM TO SEE AT sale. This is the Collins model 26C limiter. Like everything Collins it\'s built to the highest standards using milspec components. Notice that the tube sockets are all white porcelain. This one is in excellent condition and shows no signs of abuse, mods, tobacco environment, etc.. It\'s completely original and functions exactly as it should. The face cosmetics are super nice with all the original silver lettering fully intact. Both meters are fully functional and show no signs of abuse. This compressor appears to be in an original Collins case and also has the original Collins power transformer on a long cable. This was probably done to prevent any hum pick-up from anything nearby. The tube complement is all vintage American. Using 6J7 (2), 6G8, 6R7, 6X5 and pair of 6K6 in push-pull for output.For those who don\'t know 6K6 is a muscular version of 6V6. Sort of like a 6L6 vs 5881! Compressors that use push-pull outputs are known for their full ballsy sound with loads of bottom if you need it. This compressor sounds beautiful as a good tube compressor should. You can use it lightly for subtle compression on voices or \"slam it\" for base track that will cut through anything. Also included is the original Collins manual in excellent condition. Typical of Collins the manual is extremely comprehensive. Besides operation instructions, it includes theory of operation, trouble shooting, applications, and graphs/charts that are hand inked with a fountain pen! If you intend to use this compressor as a limiter, you\'ll be impressed that it simply \"brick walls\" at limiting setting. The meter needle appears to have a stop applied! This limiter is built like a battleship and is somewhat large and heavy. Case dimensions are 20\" x 20\" x 11\". Weight approx. 40 lbs....heavy iron! I can\'t find any I.D. on transformers,But as we all know Collins would have used the best,Usually UTC,Stancor,Thordarson.Actual limiter dims are 19\"w,x14\"h,x7\"d,8\"d including knobs.And YES!
