An E.&T. Underwood, 19th Century Antique Mahogany & Brass Large Folding Plate Field CameraThe Instanto camera was made by E. & T. Underwood from around 1886. Designed as a stand camera and constructed of seasoned mahogany and with red or black leather bellows and sold with various lens / shutter combinations.The camera body and red leather bellows look to be in generally good order and would, I think, be ideal for light restoration. The ground glass rear screen is approximately 6 1/2'' x 4 3/4''.Note that there is a partial split to the mahogany bed-plate although this is nicely contained within the bed-plate transverse panels and will not become larger (see photo).There is no lens with the camera.Height of body: 9'', Length with bellows extended: 13 1/2''Here for sale with a low start price and .Do ask questions as required and do please see my other antique art listings and items of interest.
