EARLY 1800’S GERMAN EXPORT MODEL MILITARY SWORD-KNECHT SOLINGEN:

Very good condition early 1800’s German manufactured exportmodel military sword, probably used by an American militia before the CivilWar. Marked “KNECHT” on the right side of the blade behind the langet, and“SOLINGEN” on the left side. 31” blade has original bright finish with somegray. Edge has a few nicks and dings. Brass fittings have nice patina. Grip hastight wire wrap and shows some normal wear. Has a chip by the pommel. Fitted incorrect original brass scabbard that has attractive patina and a few dents. Aninteresting German made military sword that will make a fine addition to yourcollection.
