EARLY CHILEAN CAVALRY SWORD-FRENCH MADE-CHATELLERAULT ARSENAL-SCARCE For Sale

Good condition late 1800’s-early 1900’s Chilean cavalry swordthat was manufactured under contract by Chatellerault Arsenal in France and isso marked on the blade spine. Left side ricasso has the Chilean star and shieldproof mark. 35 ¼” blade has original bright finish turning gray with pittingthroughout. Edge has several small nicks. Still has original leather washer atthe base. Remaining metal finish is original bright finish with some brown.Hard rubber grip shows some normal handling marks and has scratched “DOV”initials. Is slightly loose.Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has nice original bluemetal finish with some small dings, no major dents. A scarce Chilean cavalrysword that will make a fine addition to your collection.
