If you look up "Crying Shame" in Webster's Dictionary you can see a good picture of this bottle. It was recovered from a Colonial Virginia site by my wife. It was in hard packed sand with another bottle and both were incased in concreted sand. When I removed the sand I found the hole in the shoulder. There were no other defects and I think it is one of the prettiest Mallets I have seen. It is very crude and lopsided on the bottom and has a perfect string.
Even with the defect, it displays well.
