Edison Gem Model C Cylinder Phonograph 2-minute - A REAL Model C For Sale

Offered in this sale is an Edison Gem Model C Phonograph. Often you see Gems advertised as Model C because they have a Model C reproducer. The Model C Gem was introduced in 1908 and was significantly different than the Model B and much more attractive with the double lined striping and the lack of a nuisance endgate making the new Model C a lot more desirable than earlier Gems. Yes, they still retain the Model C, 2-minute reproducer. This example is in exceptional condition retaining nearly all of its original paint and striping. This is a striking machine and runs and plays well, too. The cover and base are average condition for one of these machines, both showing wear likely form long term storage. That would explain why the machine inside is so very nice. The lid also has some veneer repairs as can be seen in the pictures. Now for the few downsides of this one. It has a reproduction crank that looks fine and functions as it should but is not original to the machine. Next, the pot metal body of the Reproducer is frozen inside the carriage. I did not want to apply any pressure to it so I left it as it was. It sounds fine and would probably last another 100 years. Possibly some heat or freezing or some other method can be used to shrink/expand the metals to allow it to be removed but that\'s for someone else. It functions just fine as it is. Lastly the 10\" cone horn is an accurate reproduction from Mr Ron Sitko. Shipping will be $35 anywhere in the Continental USA. Pickup in West Palm Beach, FL is welcome.
