Emerson Trojan Fan all brass blade cage model 53644 rare antique excellent For Sale

Excellent example of the rare and collectible Emerson Trojan all-brass fan. Three speed, non-oscillating model. Blade is one piece of stamped brass. These were manufactured in 1911-1912, making this an antique. Model is 53644. Serial # 414921. Very compact, eye-catching fan. Cage is not quite 9\" wide; fan stands about 10\" high. See description in the Witt book Collector\'s Guide to Electric Fans, page 18. Cage, blade, motor and base are undamaged, no dings. Very slight scratches on blades will buff out. Blade and cage look like they were laquered once. The headwire may be original; the tips of the grommets at both ends of the wire have broken off. I am including two new reproduction grommets. I\'ve added new cord similar to the original cloth cord, and plug, and that has the new grommet installed. Operationally the fan needs attention. Switching to speed 3 does nothing (though switch is making good contact). Speed 2: blade will turn slowly while motor hums slightly. Speed 1: fan might spin normally or turn slowly while motor hums. Fan is very easy to disassemble, so should not be a difficult project. Truly a stunning eye-catcher. Polish it up and add it to your collection.For shipping, the cage, cage struts, and blade will be removed and packed separately.
