Emerson\'s First Plastic-cased Transistor Radio 849 working Red CD For Sale

emerson 849 radio transistor. Works. There is a small chip out of the plastic on the bottom front side under the volume control, see detail photo. There is also a crack in the plastic on that side that is about 3/8 inch long, it is not broken through. Shows wear, especially scratching on the back center. There are marks in the screwdriver slot where the back has been pried off many times to replace the battery. All parts look original, there is no sign of service or replacement work.
This is reported to be Emerson\'s first transistor radio in a plastic case. There was one earlier model in a leather case, before that they were all hybrid tube sets. This has the original Texas Instruments transistors.
