Extinctrice Fire grenade For Sale

A rare fire grenade in this beautiful red glass made by the French company, Extinctrice. The pattern is alternating wide panels with narrow ribs. The bottle appears to be blown in mold with two seams running up the sides. This empty grenade stands about 7\" tall and about 5\" in diameter and is in perfect condition. Fire grenades were thrown at the base of a fire. The glass bottle would break, releasing the contents inside and extinguishing the fire. These were in general use from the late 1800\'s into the early 1900\'s. This is a lovely piece of glass and a fascinating piece of fire fighting memorabilia history.
