EXTREMELY RARE BLACK(deep root beer color)HOME BITTERS~SAINT LOUIS.Mo~VERY CRUDE For Sale

WELCOME and thanks for stopping by. Well,here\'s a mid-Western bottle with fantastic eye appeal and it\'s also got a LOT of crudeness to it. HOME BITTERS/JAs A. JACKSON & Co. PROPRIETORS/SAINT LOUIS. MoThe color of this example is one that you hardly ever encounter and I can find no sale record of an example having been sold inthis color. When you get some light coming through it, it\'s in a deep Root Beer / Chestnut brown color. But if not placed in front of an area with a good amount of light, it looksvery BLACK. I could very well be wrong; because it certainly doesn\'t look like it; but the bottle may have been lightly cleaned at some point in the past, and if so, it was donevery professionally because the bottle certainly look like it\'s in original condition and it doesn\'t have that over polished look about it. The glass has great texture & character about it and it\'s an early one with an applied lip and a keyhinge mold base. BUT,... there is a small stress crack (last photo) on the chamfered corner across and to the left of the ME in HOME. There\'s a bit of a glop of extra glass right there on the corner that caused the line and it can only be seen when the bottle is held up to the light and viewed pretty much straight on. This is a manufacturing flaw and is not to be considered as damage. Do you think you canjust go out and easily find a mint one in this color?..... I don\'t think soand good luck to you if you want to give it a try. So if you\'re looking for thatcertain special and off color that you need to complete your run, can you really afford to be all that picky? But anyway, there\'s no damage to this bottle and there is a bit of wear and just a few scattered light scratches that areall pretty much confined to the label panel. But these are VERY minor and not all that noticeable. Thepics tell it best and I found that it was better to take some just before the sun almost set so thatthere wouldn\'t be a whole lot of glare reflecting off the bottle.
