Federal Signal Air Raid emergency warning sirensimilar tothe one used during WWllmadeby Federal Electricnow known as Federal Signal, Federal Electric made this same style air raid siren before and during the 2nd world war for the home front. This emergency air raid / gas warningsiren isUS Military surplus, itis the Model G-A1 yellow label series Hand Crank Siren - Federal began to manufacture the Model G siren in 1938, the original air raid siren was made to protect the home front and was worn around the neck or slung over the shoulder with a clip on strap while this new version can also be worn or carried with the supplied OD green strap it can also be mounted to any flat surface by screwing or boltingit down through the two mounting holes at the base. This siren is very very loud and can reach up to 103db at 10\' / 112db at 1 meter (wear hearing protection while operating this siren) and has that distinct old style sound you have heard in the movies or tv shows from the past (air raid sirens, police cars, fire engines etc.), the faster you crank the louder it gets- This newer version G-1A siren is in originalvery goodcondition with some scuffs/paint nicks,includes the neck/shoulder strap.
