Magnavox\'s first transistor radio which came out in 1956. This AM-2 utilizes a hand-wired metal chassis that contains 6 transistors.Their second model, the AM-5, is similar, but uses a printed circuit board. This set has a nice two-tone color combination of red & black with additional gold details. The tuning dial has a particularly attractive design.
A search for Magnavox AM-2 on radiomuseum.org will display this exact radio. This is also a source for the Photofact documents of this model.
The pictures do a good job of detailing cosmetic condition. Various signs of use. Some scuffing here and there. A few shallow scratches.Retains its visual appeal well in my opinion.
Radio needs servicing. Does not produce sound and circuit components have not been tested. No corrosion or rust present on interior.
Comes with original case. Leather is still in good shape structurally. Some staining however.
