You are looking at a Franklin Mint Liberty Clock created by Soiete Nouvelle L\'Epee of France.  The clock movement is a seven-day, high-precision Paris regulator movement.  There is a compensated mercury pendulum and jeweled visible escapement.   The clock chimes on the hour and half hour.  It features a 72-note, high precision muscial movement made by Reuge of Switzerland.  The musical movement is programmed to play The Star-Spangled Banner and La Marseillaise.  There were 2,500 of the Liberty clock produced and this is number 398.  The clock case is made of solid brass the is hand-polished and lacqured.  There are beveled glass panels and an enamel backed on steel dial.  The style of this clock is traditional French.

Condition Report

The clock works beautifully and kept time for a full week.  The case has some scuffs to the metal and a few scratches.  Most of the scratches are inside on the top of the base, we assume from the pendulum being taken out and put back in.  There is one scratch on the top in one of the front corners.  The clock was services within the last 4 years to keep it in good running order.
