Grand Army of the Republic Civil War veteran\'s sword with scabbard. Made in the style of a M1860 Staff and Field sword. Leather and wire wrapped grip. Brass hilt with dark patina, counter guard with intertwined GAR and symbols of the Army and Navy. Scabbard was nickeled, now mostly a red-brown patina. Plain 25-1/2\" blade with blood groove that bears some similarity to a M1840 musician sword blade. A good, complete sword overall.
