Why are we offering a Repair AND Restoration Service?Typically, at a repair shop you may pay $300 for a repair where just a single component gets replaced. This results in an audio imbalance where the repaired audio channel will sound different from the other channel. Repair shops will not replace varied components which are likely fail in the near future. By sendingyour unit to us, you can restassured thatboth audio channels are properly balanced and ALL varied components get replaced with high quality replacement components. Here is a list of the work done:
1. Install New Cornell Dubilier (USA) Power Capacitors (Grandson Only)
2. Replace All Audio Board Electrolytic capacitors with Nichicon Muse capacitors
3. Install a better spec Dual OP-AMP IC, replacing the 30 year old IC. The New OPAMP has a significantly lower noise and a far better audio detail. The IC is mounted on a new 8-pin IC socket.
4. Replace any defective Transistors with matched replacements, including Power Transistors
5. Replace any varied signal & zener diodes with better quality replacements
6. All Biasing / Voltage adjustments to exact manufacturer specifications
7. General cleaning using a professional cleaning cloth and brush.
8. Clean the Speaker outputs and RCA Sockets with Alcohol to produce a clean Contact.
9. If the current set of Rubber feet are worn out, we will install new rubber feet at no extra charge.
Altogether we will replace 20+ components of your Amplifierwith High Quality Audio grade component replacements.
What is excluded in this service? The Main Power transformer, Power Resistors, Meters, Germanium Diodes and MPQ series IC\'s (no longer made)
