Wonderful genuine period miniature chair, not a reproduction. This may have been for a child of a wealthy family to play with or a salemans / shop display item. Top rail carved with flower head decoration and middle rail scalloped edge with tiny brass embossed centre piece. The back legs are plain below seat but channel moulded above. The front legs and front stretcher have bobbin type turning and side stretchers plain. The chair has its original black paint to simulate ebony ( there is wear in just the right places consistent with age) and original rush type seat.Condition is excellent in my opinion, totally original and untouched. No repainting, no replaced parts, no damage, splits etc, remarkable to have survived in this condition.
Approximate measurements are 8 inches high, 6 inches wide, 4 inches deep. In photographs i have placed it next to a standard can of beans to help with appreciating the small proportions. From my own collection, an item I bought many years ago. Thank you for looking and please study photographs carefully and ask questions which I will do my best to answer. I am also listing another nice item of treen at the moment please take a look.
