Original World War 2BOOTS, SERVICE, COMBATsize 10 D, in very nice used condition
Straight out of an old sea bag comes this absolutely authentic original pair of American World War II BOOTS, SERVICE, COMBAT in a very desirable size and in very good used condition. Authorized in November 1943 to replace the shoe and leggings, wearable examples of these two-buckle leather boots in a size to fit a modern human are really getting very tough to find.
We are showing each boot individually and not overlapping them in the pictures so that we can make the pictures as large as possible and show as much detail as possible.
The pair offered here are the standard M1943 “rough-out” type in brown with the original World War II brown laces. These combat boots have blackened brass non-magnetic buckles (yes, these are the original buckles, and they are brass, not iron), and even the original WW2 aluminum buckle eyelets retain much of their original brown paint.
They are a size 10 D (large for WW2 era Americans) and have the following markings stamped inside the front of the top leather portions of both boots: 10 D and the letters JV inside a box. The bottoms of the soles are marked HT-S and BFG 1870 for BF Goodrich. The heels are also marked Goodrich.
Our photos show that these boots have been worn but that they still have a great many miles left in them. The heel edges are very square and there are no repairs, no open stitching and no holes in the leather. All the leather is still very supple and looks good. Eight inches of the original brown lace in the left boot is broken off, but included with the boot.
