1958 Gibson GA-20T!
Rare 2 - Tone Combo Amp! Made In USA!
You are looking at a very rare amp. This is a 1958GibsonGA-20T amp. These were produced from 1956 to 1961. The GA-20T has a great tone with a very clean distortion. Like all Gibson amps, it is a favorite with guitar and harp players. The GA-20T has that thick and guttural roar but is still clear and well defined. The \"Darker\" tone is still there but in a very refreshing way. The \"T\" stands for Tremolo. This was the feature everyone wanted back in the 1950\'s. This is probably one of the best sounding amps ever produced. In the same league with the \'50s Fender Tweed amps. Similar but different. This is the amp that Ry Cooder and Billy Gibbons use as a recording amp.
Our amp tech went through this amp and gave it a complete service. He dated all the codes and everything checks out to 1958.

The 6V6\'s and 5Y3 tubes are RCA\'s and date from 1958. Original Tubes.
The amp is mostly original. Many amp techs feel that they should replace everything. Here at Top 40 we do not subscribe to that theory. We try to keep the amp as original as possible and go to great lengths to do that. The amp has to function correctly.Our amp tech went through this amp and gave it a complete service.Everything functions correctly. Trem circuit is Awesome!Speaker has beenRe- Coned. Hard wired pedal not original. Power cord has been upgraded to a three prong. The tech cleaned all pots and jacks, and gave it a good thorough service. It\'s all there. (See pictures #7, #8, #9 #10). This is a 2 owner amp. Originally purchased in 1958, it was only used for a few years before it was just left in a closet. (Original owner had some medical issues). It remained in the closet until 2013.The wife sold the amp to a close friend of mine, who in turntraded it in at my shop. Exceptionally good condition for a vintage amp from 1958. You will not find a cleaner one!
