Beautiful Sansui G-9000 Pure Power DC stereo receiver from my vintage audio collection, built in January 1978. Rare find for audio purists enthusiasts.

Multi-voltage unit 110V/120V/220V/240V. Voltage switch inside 100V/120V/220V/240V, 50/60Hz. Currently set on 120V. Will operate in any country.

Many people know that it really is not much of a contest when comparing monster Sansui to anything else.
160 wpc with absolutely none of the harshness or shrillness one would associate with that kind of power.
Very large, larger then Pioneer SX-1250 & SX-1280.
Huge toroidal transformer and 4 huge power capacitors. Interesting that, similar to G-33000, they all stamped “Sansui Toroidal Power Transformer” and “Sansui Dynamic Oval capacitor”.

Pure Power DC (from web)The new design theory with this \"monster power\" amp is the DC amp technology used to drive the speakers with a clean signal. By eliminating storage capacitors in the signal path and negative response loop, pure power is directly coupled with a DC or direct current signal, and can respond to sharp changes in the frequency, i.e. \"the musical wave\" without lag time, and with phenomenal accuracy. The frequency range is 0 (yes that’s a Zero) to 200,000Hz, for the lowest lows and the highest highs human ears can detect, and nothing in between is missing as a result of the output.

Part of the design theory is complete and separate power for each channel of output. A huge toroidal power transformer with separate dual windings create large reserves of power for the signal coming in on each channel, no robbing power from the other channel causing all kinds of distortion and circuit problems.

Some great ideas and design concepts came in these new (1970s) DC pure power receivers and they are an absolute dream to listen too.

Unbelievable cool-looking receiver. I tried to capture it’s true beauty, but pictures don’t do justice.
Dial and meters old incandescent lamps were upgraded with bright Green and Blue LEDs (custom design, I paid $300).
This monster makes a stunning visual impression. One of a kind.

Cosmetic condition. Great condition, wooden cabinet is in perfect condition, very close to Mint, all corners are sharp, see close-up pictures.
Silver face plate is in perfect condition. Glass is perfect too.
Knobs & switches are fine, no corrosion.
Volume knob has drilled opening for a green Led, looks very nice. Tuning knob has 2 openings for 2 Leds, but I removed Leds and sealed the openings.
There’s a scratch on the side of metal faceplate, as seen on picture 17.
No missing parts.
Everything is original.
Sits on 5 original feet (not 4 as I see on many other units).

Functional condition. Great functional condition. Sansui smooth, sweet, clean, and powerful sound.

• Everything operates properly.
• FM, AM, Aux, Phono1, and Phono 2 work as they should.
• All 4 meters (2 VU meters and 2 tuner meters) work well.
• Crystal clear sound, no distortion, no hum, no noise.
• Left & Right channels are equal.
• All and every controls (switches, knobs, push-buttons, etc.) operate as they should. Bass, Midrange, Treble work.
• Sounds fantastic, clean and powerful sound.
• All dial scale and VU meter LEDs are fine.
• All indicator lamps work fine (Power, Protection, Speaker A, Speaker B, FM Stereo, Aux, Phono1, Phono 2, FM, AM).
• Very sensitive tuner – operates with a short piece of wire as an antenna. Catch (and lock on) FM station way away from my area.
• Pointer position perfectly corresponds with stations.

Serviced about 2 years ago. All switches and pots were sprayed with DeoxIt. I was told that monster Sansui’s are famous for oxidation in switched that must be sprayed regularly. (I didn’t use G-9000 last 2 years, maybe it’s time to spray switches again, but I tested it and everything works fine.)
DC Offset was adjusted/set to zero in both channels. I tested it now and it’s pretty much about zero in both channels.
Bios Current was set to 16mA DC in accordance with G-9000 specs.

Shipping: I have excellent experience shipping heavy vintage audio gear from my collection.
Sansui G-9000 is extremely heavy unit (about 80 lb when properly packed) and required oversized package and hard for me to deal with. I have professionals who do the proper packing, and they do it right. It would be packed into double-wall boxes and padded accordingly for security and protection.
(I normally pay $50-60 for package of this size, but it would be my cost, no charge to buyer).

After packing, I have exact weight & dimensions of the box, and buyer pays for the actual shipping expenses. Domestically, I ship by FedEx or UPS (with tracking number and full price insurance).

International Shipping: I will ship Internationally. I have great international shipping experience. International shipping could be expensive and regulations (size and weight) vary from country to country. So please ask me for shipping quote before offer.
