Graflex Century Universal 8x10 Folding Field Camera w/5x7 reducing back For Sale

Up for sale is a Graflex Century Universal 8x10 Camera. Note there is no name badge on this camera, but because this camera has a very unique design among 8x10 cameras, there\'s little doubt this is what it is.
The condition of the camera is on the \"user\" side. There are small light scratches throughout the camera, although none are particularly deep. One layer of finish is coming off the top of the camera, some of the metal parts have a bit of brass tarnish.The top leather handle has been taped up for reinforcement.The top of the metal focusing track has a few superficial scratches and has been marked at a few points. The bellows have been spot-painted black on some of the corners but an examination with a flashlight still reveals some minor pinholes. Throwing a focusing cloth over the bellows should be enough to prevent any light leaks.
On the positive the camera works well. Focusing tracks are not bent, the dual beds extend out as they should. The back has good spring tension. The ground glass is quite functional, although the ground glass corners are cut a little \"generous\". All movements function as they should, I see no missing knobs or parts. I used this camera a few times and found it quite usable. Camera comes with a lensboard which has a ~68mm hole. The camera takes 6x6 boards.There are three tripod sockets on this camera, the center one is threaded to 3/8\" while the other two are 1/4\". A simple thread adapter can fix this.
The weight of the camera is light for an 8x10, at 9 pounds 12 ounces. Quite a bit lighter than the Deardorff (which are normally ~12 pounds). Folded dimensions excluding knobs is 12\" x 12\" x 4.5\". Including knobs adds an inch of width.
There are two levels on the camera, one is an interesting accessory level that fits neatly on the top of the front standard, which reads \"The A. Lietz Co. San Fransico, CA\". It has not dried out and the two bubbles are easily read.
Another level rests on the side on the focusing track and is brass. The vertical axis is functional in this level, but the horizontal has dried out.
Also included is an 8x10 -> 5x7 reducing adapter. This adapter is in good condition, with only a few minor scuffs. Writing on the back of the reducing adapter says \"Manufactured by Folmer Graflex Corporation, Rochester, NY\"
The maximum bellows extension is around 23 inches (measured from the start of the film back to the start of the front standard).Good luck on this camera and happy offerding!
