Grunewald Hotel New Orleans Antique Compote For Sale

This antique compote is from The Grunewald Hotel in New Orleans, which opened in 1893 and was renamed The Roosevelt Hotel in 1923. The compote is in very good condition, no chips or cracks noted. It does have the blemishes common to vitrified commercial china of the era. It measures 8.5\" diameter and 5.25\" tall.The compote has the incised makers brand of Greenwood China, Trenton, N.J. The decoration was probably added by the next mark, which is \"The Loubat Glassware & Cork Co. New Orleans, L.A.A piece of New Orleans history and wonderful addition to a restaurant ware collection.
