GURLEY SURVEYORS COMPASS For Sale

Gurley small (12-3/4\") plain compass with 4\" needle which moves freely. The spirit levels are intact. The compass is fitted with 6 3/4\" sight vanes. This compass also has an outkeeper by which the surveyor could keep track of the number of chain lengths that had been measured. The dovetailed box with Gurley label includes a working lock with key and a needle wrench for removal of needle for sharpening. The clamp and thumbscrew on the spindle housing are new as well as the ball and spindle. I made the 48\" cherry staff and had a blacksmith make the shoe. The floor stand was made strictly for upright display and is included if wanted.
