Hand Braided 54\' Rawhide Lariat Reata Riata Vaquero Rope -cost $500- SANTA FE: $227.50
This is a very nice vaquero (hand braided inArgentina, well known for great quality rawhide work) saddle rope, commonly called a reata or riata. Bought at Seidel\'s Saddle Shop in Cody, WY a few years ago, cost $500, see tag. Hand braided 4 strand rawhide. Note a honda on both ends. Never been used, very good flex. A fine one, over 3/8” diameter. It is about 54 feet long. Good to use or hang on a vintage saddle. If you want to use it , give it a good going over with “vaquero rawhide cream”, you can buy it on . NEVER use oil on any rawhide! Easy to apply, will give it a lively spring, rawhide gets better the more you use it.
