This Hickok Model 6000 is in good condition cosmetically andappears to work operationally. The pictures show both the exterior andinterior. When I had it out of the case to photograph the interior, I testedboth tubes. The 83 and the 5Y3GT both tested good on another tube tester.
It comes with a photocopy manual. Actually the manual is forthe Model 6000A, but the differences are minor. Also included in the manual aretest data for obsolete tubes not shown on the roll chart and for foreign tubes. The roll chart works fine, and together with the supplemental tube data in the manuals, this model is able to test both old obsolete older types as well as more modern tube types.
To check its operation, I tested a number of New Old Stocktubes of various filament voltages and types. The following New Old Stock tubesall tested good, suggesting that the tester is working: 1L6, 6BE6, 35Z5, 50L6, 76.
There is slight corrosion on some interior metal parts. Theline cord shows signs of wear and probably should be replaced with a new 3-wirecord. The instruction sheet in the lid is missing.
I did not attempt to test the transistor test function.
