HICKOK model 799 tube tester w/original box NEW? For Sale

Offered is HICKOK model 799 \"Mustang\" vacuum tube tester in good working order. This one is in exceptional cosmetic cosmetic condition. It comes with its original packing box, all paper work including the warranty card, flip charts, and operations manual. It appears to have never been used, or if it has, only very very little. It was pulled from dead stock storage recently along with other new stock items from a closed TV repair shop. The 799 is not a common HICKOK tester. It is a Dynamic Mutual Conductance type that is intended for a quick reading while out in the field. The top plate of the tester is set up with multiple sockets. Below each socket is a list of common types of tubes, along with the test settings, for that socket. It\'s similar to the way B&K set up their 707 and 700 series testers, though much better made from what I can see. For types not listed below the sockets you refer to the flip chart , which will let you know the settings and appropriate socket. The meter reads good/questionable/replace across the top. There is no scale for GM readings, though it might do that as well. Test types include most all of the modern types of tubes, including audio types like 12AX7, 6L6, 7591, 7868, 6V6 and so on. It will also test rectifiers such as 5Y3, 5U4 5AR4 and so on. Small signal tubes like 6SN7, 6AU6, 12BA6. It will test sweep tubes such as 6JE6. I checked all of these types and the tester performed perfectly. There were no issues that I could tell. NOTE that there are NO provisions for older type of radio tubes. There are NO big pin sockets for 4, 5, and 6 pin tubes, so if you have a need to test these types you will need another tester. Package will include the original outer box.
