Up for sale is large and extremely striking vintage Mexican sterling silver repousse bird brooch by Horacio de La Parra circa 1940. Parra owned the firm Plateria Azteca and produced hollowware for both William Spratling and Hector Aguilar. Parra\'s own work is fairly scarce and of very high quality. This wonderful brooch in in the form of a stork or crane and measures approx 4\" x 2 1/2\". It is signed \"MEXICO STERLING PARRA\" on the underside and weighs approx 22.8 grams. The condition is very fine with no damage and light wear consistent with age.
