Up for sale is a fine and extremely rare early Roman Empire bronze & silver spotted inlaid deer or fawn figure. The figure is part of an important group of early works being offered in this week’s sale, many of which were purchased 20-40 years ago at Sotheby’s and other reputable galleries at the time. This figure has excellent provenance being originally purchased from the Heyward Cutting collection sold by Sotheby’s New York, November 29th, 1989, lot 25. I am sure a copy of this catalogue could be obtained if desired.

This figure is a very unique and I am positive exceptionally rare example to find. This figure has particularly fine details throughout with intricately inlaid silver spots. The deer has great visual motion. The deer shows an early undisturbed patina throughout. The figure is in fine condition as seen with no damage. The figure itself measures 3 1/4 inches long, by 1 1/4 inches wide, and 2 1/2 inches tall. The figure on stand measures 3 1/2 inches tall. The figure with affixed stand weighs 222 grams. It is Well Worth looking into this figure and its current value. I believe collections of this importance would rarely come up for sale on . An opportunity you should take advantage of and not miss out on!
