It is easy to use but like if I'm streaming video or something it has a lot of leg in it in it also sucks off unexpectedly by itself so I think I paid a little bit too much for something that isn't that good if it's been used alot and has an overheating issue or something you make its head off by itself

This Roku is an old model. By default means that it does not come with the newest updates. I couldn’t use Netflix properly because the version is the first of Netflix’s app software.

This receiver has an HDMI output and a RCA output, the problem is either one or the other one will work at a time. It has an options button on the remote that on my unit would not work or access anything no response from receiver pressing it unless it should say Menu because there is no setting to designate which output the signal comes out of. I had it plugged in HDMI when I started it upm I tried to hook up the RCA jacks to a DVR recorder and no output was there, I unplugged the HDMI and then there was output at the RCA Jacks. There are a lot of channels for the price, free ones have commercials except for Free Speech TV. There are a lot of pay access channels and some channels which aren't live but just files of recorded shows. You can spend days searching through all this offers I have not done that yet. Just wanted people to know about the alternate RCA or HDMI outputs... both don't work at the same time.Read full review
This edition of the Roku streamer fills all my needs. With a little patience I could choose to eliminate most of my cable TV service and spend my TV time with a grand assortment of movies, old and new, TV shows etc. and by paying relatively low individual fees or sign on to annual services, I could easily eliminate the majority of my extremely high cable TV fees. Roku is easy to use, like all wireless services that stream it has a burp or two occassionally, often at the most climactic part of whatever I am watching, but this isn't the Roku's fault. I don't see why people who are interested in movies and a good source of TV programming would choose to stream with this small, easy to install, easy to use product.
An amazing and versatile compact device. I have enjoyed all its features, well, almost all, as I continue to make discoveries like, for instance, access to hundreds of hundreds of radio stations receiving them in outstanding audio quality. Having been a fan of short wave radio in my youth (not so long ago) this has opened a new window of enjoyment and discovery, and of course, the so many other links that are available in "The Channel Store". There is absolutely nothing I dislike about the device, however, it is important to have efficient internet speed, a highly recommended requirement and it does make a difference in its performance. And its remarkable ease to operate is another great asset and I highly recommend it and in support of my statement, I already have 6 units in my home, circling it with classical music from the FM stations I get, even from far away places like Europe and Asia, thanks to ROKU.Read full review
