I purchased this to replace my Roku because I liked the fact that it can access videos over the network and play them on my big screen TV. It works well for this but other features that are listed in the specs are no longer supported like Facebook and Fling. This was a little disappointing. Also, there's no option to add more channels like the Roku has, again, disappointing.

This product when new it's a very good player, but as is always connected to power, it tends to get heated and after months or maybe more you will start to have freezing problems and then one day it will just die, had three on different times and all trhee had same issue

I bought the NeoTv SL for its DLNA support, to access my central storage server (NAS). The Google Chromecast missed that option and that’s why I opted for this NetGear model, which supports a wired or wireless connectivity. The WiFi supports only 802.11 b/g/n on 2.4Ghz and no .ac on 5GHz. Video streaming plays smoothly though, with some buffering of maybe 5 seconds twice, during a whole movie. All preloaded video apps works, where 75% requires some sort of service subscription (Netflix, Hulu, …). The Flickr photo app does NOT work at all while Google Picasa goes well. The SL model comes with an IR remote with a small QWERTY keyboard at the back. Very useful for doing search on YouTube, while it's not really a replacement for web browsing (for that use your smart phone). My NeoTv SL is connected to an LED monitor through HDMI and video quality is excellent for what I have, and the small investment in a screen and video source (good option for the bedroom). Be aware that it does not support the full load of codecs out there and I don’t think any device does anyway. Depending on the .MKV compression, some files will run only the video with no audio. The device is worth the money but is not the alternative for a really good home cinema system (Ex. Sony).Read full review
really great item and good source of internet channels for half the price of a roku with full 1080HD. I have used and interface is very easy to use and quick add or remove channel feature. I also can appreciate the remote which has buttons to take you direct to netflix or hulu and the one thing missing is amazon channel.
Very nice addition to our family's home entertainment setup. Streams movies from Netflix, Youtube and other websites. The remote has a keyboard on the back, which says time when searching for the movie title you want. Also streams media from your laptop or computer through DLNA. The resolution is not as good as the other streaming choices on the streamer, but it is still a easy way to watch home movies. The USB input is a better choice for streaming home-made media. So just copy your movies to a USB hard drive or jump drive and the picture quality is much improved over DLNA. Overall a very good addition to our family's entertainment setup. I would give it 4 of 5 stars.
