I bought this unit for my husbands' birthday. We don't watch TV that much. We have a large collection of DVD's, some of which could not be watched without profanity, violence or sex. Since receiving the Clear Play DVD player, we are very impressed with not only the filtering aspect, but also the quality of the picture. It's very clear and we are enjoying it very much. The vendor was fantasic all the way. Every question was answered and once ordered, it came quickly. Downloading the filter was great once I got thru. That was a bit of a challenge. I learned that if I leave my number, they WILL call back. I highly recommend this item and am very pleased.
Only issue is that there are multiple versions of every movie, sometimes specific to the retailer. There have been DVDs that I have ordered online that do not have a filter, even though there are filters for that movie in other formats.

This is a DVD ClearPlay Unit - It will not play Blue-Ray - You must be a paid member of ClearPlay to obtain and use "Filters" to to clean-up movies. With a subscription you can obtain and download the filters to a Thumb-Drive and then install them on the machine.

This is one of the coolest things ever invented! You can select your filter settings, then pop in any movie, (they have almost all of them) and immediately, you don't have to worry about watching things that are inappropriate! You can put filters on for sexuality, profanity, blood and core, violence, and more! It is such a great invention. I just love knowing that I can see movies without worry that inappropriate thoughts or images are going to stay in my mind. I HIGHLY recommend this product!
We have many kids at different age levels, and its hard to find a movie we can all watch together...however, we can pick up a movie from Redbox, and with the filters watch just about any movie we want. The player also allows you to select the level of filtering for a multitude of filters, such as Sexual Content, Language, Nudity, etc... I love my Clearplay, and will get another the day it dies, cannot live without it!
