This is a fairly typical example of a "soap opera style" formula for a Universal picture in the 1950's. Directed by Douglas Sirk and starring Jane Wyman and Rock Hudson, this follows the May/December romance between a widow and her handyman in 1950's New England. Fairly controversial at the time because of the age difference and the fact that it is the woman and not the man who is older here. Fine supproting cast including Charles Drake, Virginia Grey and especially Agnes Moorehead. If you enjoyed Magnificant Obsession, then this one's for you.
Rock Hudson . ....... 4 stars. A great film from the 50's.... can't get any better. This is a must for Rock Hudson fans. with a great supporting cast.
A neighbor of mine had this movie. I enjoyed it so much ,I decided I wanted it for myself. I liked everything about , the people , the story ,a Great love story ,the outdoor scenery, everything.
I love old movies and the older actors. Wyman and Hudson are outstandind in this movie! There are so many obstacles they face and it has a wonderful ending!
