The exercises on this video works. You are basically using your own body weight, and positioning your leg at an angle. At least for the Inital leg exercises,and inner thigh work. I did not however think the outer leg work was as effective. But in using the exercises you will see results quickly if used as regularly 3 times a week. It is a little old and the trainer talks way too long... When ever my routine slips, I pick this back up to catch up. I have been using it off and on for years. And it is hard to find. Someone taped over my original accidentally.
I was ecstatic to find the "Original" Buns of steel tape on Ebay. I have used this tape since it's release in circa 1986. My copy broke and I was devastated. I tried other tapes, but they just didn't cut it. The original is with Greg Smithey as the lead. He is phenomenal. I found other tapes and leaders to be a bit demeaning or depressing. Greg is like working out with an old friend every time I do it. It is low impact, fun...and it works. If my weight and size sneaks up I can count on Greg to bring me back down at least 2 sizes just through working out with him 2-3 times a week. I bought 3 copies, I do not want to be without Greg again. I highly recommend to anyone that can't find time for the gym, yet desires to get or stay in shape. I had this tape years ago and lost over 40 pounds by using it 5-6 times a week. I've tried so many others tapes/dvds in the years since, gone to several gyms and finally ended up buying another Original Buns of Steel video. I've been doing the tape for only a couple of weeks now and can already see results! I am so happy I came back to this video. The instructor, participants, clothing and music are kind of cheesy but I think it's all part of it's charm. I never get bored even though I do this tape several times a week. The time seems to fly by and what a workout you get! After the first day, I had muscles that I didn't even remember having that were sore. It takes awhlie to get through the whole tape but eventually I know I'll get there. I would recommend this tape to anyone looking to lose weight and get in shape. I bought my first copy of this video in 1991 after my son was born. It killed me. It hurt just to walk the first week I did it. But it WORKED. I did it 6-7 days a week, and in three months, went from a size 14 to a size 6. And I looked great, head to toe. There's a few minutes spent on upper body and abs, and it's always been enough to keep everything looking good. I have a lot of exercise tapes but the only one I've used consistently is the original Buns of Steel. The music, set, clothes are dated, but who cares? I only care what my butt looks like at the end. Although after doing it for a while, just turn Greg down and blast whatever music you like. I've just bought another copy of this to use as a back-up for the one I have now (my third copy over the years.) I've never got to the point where this was an "easy" workout, but you work out for results, and this will give them to you. This is the old, original Buns of Steel and it is as good as ever. Anyone can follow the moves, unlike so many exorcise videos that change moves so fast it is too hard to follow along. This video works, do it for less than a week, you will see a difference in your thigh muscles that fast! I see a better, faster toning than with just walking/jogging. If you are a bit out of shape and a beginner, you can still follow the video, skip or do less reps, and work up to doing all of it. If you are in shape this video will keep you there. Just ignore the old fashioned hair and dress!
