This player loads slow but plays both DVDs and Blu-rays well. Own both the 2500 and 1500 so gotten to experience Samsung Support. Both units have had the main drive replaced. After that both units are working great. Poor quality workmanship out of the box. Recommend buying one with warranty or purchasing cheap enough to send back for service. A refurbished unit would also be a good option since it most likely has had the defected drive replacement. Defected is only my opinion because there is lots of forums discussing problems associated with that part. No recall and Samsung has been doing a very good job of servicing units if under warranty. You will need original receipt, so be aware of purchasing new unit from third party that Samsung will not except if you happen to be the second owner. Read the warranty information prior to purchasing. You will have the pay shipping in for service so my new unit ended up costing me extra $11.00 on top of original purchase price. I purchased when prices fell so did not bother me to pay shipping to Samsung for service. The hdmi works great with my Samsung 46 inch LCD that came with a part missing from factory, still waiting on that part. The tv started the Samsung purchasing and if had to go over again would not been so cheap and built a Sony system. They have problems too but at least they have the PS3.Read full review
I decided to take a chance with a refurbished unit because the seller has a 100% feedback rating. I received the unit and it took a few weeks to set it up because I needed to wire my network to the room so I could use the Netflix streaming feature. After setting everything up I was surprised at the very slow response to inputs. I am accustomed to Blu-ray load times but this unit was slow to respond to all commands from the remote. I had success viewing two Netflix movies via streaming and then it started to freeze up. I tried watching a DVD and it froze up as well. I fiddled with it when I had time and it continued to freeze up. After another week it quit altogether. The seller claimed it carried a 90 day warranty and now Samsung is telling me the warranty expired in May 2009. I have faxed thr receipt to Samsung and am awaiting their response. All-in-all I am not a happy camper. The last Samsung product I bought was a LCD TV that required all the circuit boards replaced within a few months of use. I have to question Samsung quality at this point.Read full review
I bought this unit to access Netflix from home. This is a factory refurbished unit. Except for a small snag in start up, it works perfectly and delivers EXCELLENT picture . My only concern is the life of the power up circuit, but at this price it almost doesnt matter. Did I say the picture is excellent. And Netflix ... what an amazing service to have, and SO inexpensive. You will wonder how could you do without it after you get the service. Highly recommended -
Fast load times. Great picture quality. All the sound modes you will ever need. Full HDMI support. Was reviewed by the pros as one of the best on the market. I agree. Build quality not a s solid as some older models but you get what you pay for. Netflix software works great. Only downside is support of CD/R is missing. Otherwise, top notch!
Great blu ray!!!! Does everything and has great quality!!! Easy to use and easy to set up. Works great with my hd tv.
