I enjoyed the 1992 and 1993 World Series. I was happy to see that a DVD was available that captured all of the key moments from both World Series. The Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club capitalized on their only opportunities, thus far, to win the World Series. The team's accomplishments in 1992 and 1993 have become magnified because the Blue Jays have not come close to realizing similar success. The editing of the DVD was excellent. The DVD cut fluidly from the action on the field to fans' reaction and players' on-camera commentary. The presentation of Al Leiter's filming of his personal experiences, during the 1993 World Series, came across as filler. The sincere narration was undermined, somewhat, by the "Leiter fluff". The choice of music seemed appropriate. Each World Series was accented by uptempo music at the end. Sufficient time was given to controversial plays. The commentary of the players involved in the controversies was matter-of-fact and not self-indulgent. Managers' and players' insight into pivotal moments contributed to the enjoyment of a thoroughly entertaining DVD. Blue Jay fans who wish to relive the team's two World Series championships should purchase this DVD.Read full review
This is a nice DVD for Jays fans who are looking to relive their 1992 and 1993 triumphs. It's nice that they've combined them onto one DVD, but if you've seen the VHS tapes that came out shortly after their victories, this DVD is basically the same footage from those tapes. Regardless of that, it's still well worth owning if you can get them for a decent price. The unfortunate side effect of owning this DVD is that it will once again get you pissed off at the umpire who blew the call in 1992 that should have been the only triple play in World Series history. I actually ran into Kelly Gruber (3rd baseman who applied the tag) a few months ago and I asked him if he was still pissed off that the didn't get the call. His exact words were "I'd be a lot more pissed if we'd lost the series". Well put Kelly...well put.Read full review
What a great group of ball players totally toke me back when I seen all those great players cito assembled. Definitly old stock transformed for DVD, picture quality a little suspect but it kinda adds to the nostalga. Just when you think you remember all that happened this DVD has alott of stuff in those series games I tottaly forgot and even some players that should never be forgotton. All in all worth it. Can't wait for the 2009 edition.
much clearer than the VHS version. Outstanding sound! Great addition to my Jays collection. I bought it because my old vcr ate the VHS version I had. The product has much better sound than the VHS, you can hear the roar of the crowd clearly if you have surround sound! I would recommend this item to any Jays fan or fan of baseball. History was made in both series and will become a collectors item.
I likethis dvd because it brought back memories of a winning time in Toronto's history. Seeing all the great players again was awsome! To be able to win back to back World Series and Joe Carter to win the 2nd one with a bottom of the 9th home run to come from behind well...!
