For Yankees fans, this is a must have! For me, the first time I saw the Yanks on TV with my Dad was in 1958. I saw Mantle, Maris, Berra, Ford, Boyer, Richardson, Howard, etc. play at the stadium in the 60's a few times with my parents......got a Bobbie Richardson bat on bat day. I know exactly where I was when Bucky Dent hit the infamous homer in 78........my daughter got a Yankees bat on bat day (when she was 3) against Eddie Murray and the O's in 86.......the last time I went to the stadium with my Dad was to see the Yanks vs. Mets in 02 before he passed. These films bring back a lot of great memories, players, and great times! Kudos to the producers!
This was given to me as a gift, and it is wonderful, a must see for anyone that knows about the Yankee legend, wants to be able to see it with their own eyes, or for anyone interested in baseball history. The first installment (from 1943) also includes footage from the All-Star game that year, and the shots of the old ball parks is worth the price alone. Yankee Stadium (old and refurbished) the Polo Grounds, Ebbets Field, all the way up to Shea Stadium, it's almost a history of baseball New York style. Just shy of 12 hours of baseball legends, new and old, and I enjoyed every moment of it. You get to see Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays and Jackie Robinson in their rookie seasons, a young Hank Aaron (back when he had hit a mere 140 major league home runs, and Frank Robinson when he was tearing up the National League. A couple of points that I found interesting was seeing Yogi Berra wearing the number 35 and Whitey Ford donning the number 19 early in their careers. If you are a Yankee fan you need this collection. All of the Yankee World Series victories from 1943 thru 2000. As you would expect, the older series were shorter keying off the highlights in each game of the series. The more recent series are longer and go more in depth in explaining each game and showing more great plays or costly errors. If you are a Yankee fan you really need to see some of the great players like Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle. Yogi Berra, etc.
