Before this, I decided to buy Pioneer BDP-95FD but the Seller made mistake by sending BDP-94FD instead. Well, the start-up time is so long I thought I did something wrong. After that, I tried it with standard DVDs and it worked fine. The I tried Blu-ray discs and found out that the picture is excellent only when I used the new blu-ray movies. The old movies that produced as blu-ray doesn't render much better picture than standard DVDs. This set also hanged several times without apparent cause. I assume that firmware upgrade is needed but I didn't know how to acquire them. Even if I could, I still didn't know how to upgrade. I guess I might have to use its LAN port. By the way, I have already sold them to someone else. Then I bought the second BDP-94FD again because it's cheaper than BDP-95FD and I could buy this set cheaper than the first one. However, this second sets still the same. Slow respond and hang from time to time as the previous one. Sometimes it just stop working. I have to turn it off and then turn it on again to make it work. This blu-Ray DVD player is much faster to load & play than previous generation of players and also enabled to decode DTS HD MASTER through my Pioneer receiver.

Two years ago I bought the same unit at an audio store. I love Pioneer Elite products because of their quality. Now I have two, both hooked up to Pioneer Elite TVs. The picture and sound quality out of these blueray players are excellent! Yes, they are slow to load and start but once they do all my friend's jaws drop! THANK YOU ebay for getting me such a great deal on this item!
