Overall we love it! Our only issue is that the remote control has to be pointed Directly at the box or it won't work. Kind of annoying but we're getting used to it. The picture quality is outstanding and has more channels than our old Roku 1.

I did not do due diligence in buying this product - the current operating system is 8.0 and is not available for this model, consequently many current streaming services/channels are not accessible. For me, it is SLING TV. Too bad, good paperweight though.

I've been using Netflix online services for a while now and loving it - but, from our old Blu Ray player, we could not get subtitles, and my partner is Vietnamese and having the subtitles helps him understand the movie as he strengthens his English proficiency . . . witht the Roku XD, we have access to those programs on Netflix (still WAY too few) that have subtitles. The other channels and programs from Roku are, at least at this point, pretty weak - including Hulu+ - which, considering what you get, isn't really worth tacking on to your Netflix subscription. I have enjoyed accessing my Amazon Prime account on here, however! The player was easy to connect, never drops signal from my wifi and generally has good quality viewing and is definitely worth adding to your home theater setup!
Bought this for my daughter so that I wouldn't have to pay for her Cable or Satellite subscription. Did the setup at my house to save time. I liked it so much, I bought a ROKU XS version 2. The wireless is fine and functional, but will lag a little bit on full HD movies. The version 1 XD does have a hardwired network port, but the version 2 does not. The XS is the only version 2 ROKU product with both Wireless and a hardwired netork port. The Netflix "channel" is much better than the one included in my Blu-Ray player. Looks and feels very similar to the web application. Output to a 56" 1080p Samsung with very, very good picture quality. I did have to run the HDMI input through my A/V receiver to utilize the 5.1 audio. **Depending on your use time, you may need to watch your providers data cap** HD content will add up quickly. Awesome product with lots of free and paid content.Read full review
Product was easy to set up and navigate. I would recommend not using the hdmi cable that came with it though because it kept telling me the resolution was too low. After I changed the hdmi to one I'd already had it has worked perfectly and had a wonderful picture.
