Antique cast iron early electric ceiling fan motor. Unknown maker- no motor tag or marks we can find.
With a little research on line, we found one very similar that was identified as a Westinghouse # 124and 100-115v Direct Current, but this one has no tag... A cool looking piece, withtear-drop pierced top and bottom plates and stacked rings or ribbed sides.
The moving parts spin freely and we can see things moving inside the housing-- no further testing has been done with it. The brass grease cups are intact. We find no cracks or breaks. There is wear to the black surface finish and surface rust and soil. We see soil and dust inside, but will leave opening the housing to the new owner. Use for restoration, parts, or just as an early example in your collection.
